Citizen Electoral observer group survey

Citizen or domestic electoral observers have often been presented as the future of election observation. They hold the promise of being a more sustainable approach to monitoring elections than external international missions.

However, it has also often been said that this vision has not been realised. Despite recent advances in the literature (Grömping, 2017, 2019, 2021)- there remains a need for more research on them.

We are running of citizen electoral observer groups around the world. If you represent an electoral observer group then we’d be keen to hear from you.

The survey has previously been circulated by GNDEM and NDI but please contact t.s.james@uea.ac.uk if you would like to complete the survey.

The survey focuses in the needs of citizen groups and how they interact with international missions.

The survey can be completed in English, French, Spanish or Russian.

Results will appear on this page in due course.
